Exam connection: Cambridge IGCSE Arabic – Foreign Language (0544), examinations 2028–2030. There are four papers and each one is worth 25% of the qualification: Paper 1 Listening 40 marks; Paper 2 Reading 40 marks; Paper 3 Speaking 40 marks; Paper 4 Writing 40 marks. Paper 1 has 37 multiple-choice and matching questions and every recording is played twice. Paper 3 has 10 minutes of preparation, then a role play of about 2 minutes and two topic conversations of 4 minutes each. Paper 4 consists of form filling (5), directed writing of about 80–90 words (10), and extended writing of about 130–140 words (25).
