Imperatives (فِعل الأَمر): masculine singular form introduced for classroom instructions. Pattern: remove the تـ prefix from present tense → add كسرة if the result has two consonants: يَكتُب → اكتُب. Feminine imperative formed differently (اكتُبي) — receptive introduction. هذا/هذه with classroom nouns: هذا قلم جديد / هذه كراسة كبيرة.

your partner gives classroom instructions in Arabic from day one of this lesson: "اِفتَح كِتابَك. اِكتُب اسمَك. اِستَمِع جَيِّداً. اِنتَبِه." you respond physically — no translation. After 3 minutes of TPR commands, ask: "What did I say?" you volunteer translations. Establish: from today, some classroom instructions will always be given in Arabic only. This immersive habit builds listening comprehension organically throughout the unit.

Classroom object vocabulary
Study classroom objects one by one (real objects held up or flashcards). Name, repeat, write. After all 12: memory test — your partner removes one object, Write which is missing in Arabic. Repeat 4 times. You label a classroom picture with all 12 objects. Then categorise: what is on the desk? ما على المكتب? (كتاب، كراسة، قلم..) What is on the wall? ما على الجدار? (لوحة، سبورة..) Write categorised lists using على + location.

Imperatives — classroom commands
Introduce the imperative system: take يَكتُب → اكتُب (write!). Work through 8 commands systematically on paper showing the derivation rule. You copy the pattern. Then: your partner gives 10 commands rapidly — You respond (TPR for physical commands; write/say for others). Write 5 commands from memory. Then pairs: Student A gives 3 commands in Arabic, Student B carries them out and says what they did. "اكتُب اسمَك" → [writes] "كتَبت اسمي."

Describing the classroom
Using هذا/هذه + noun + adjective, Write 6 sentences describing the classroom: "هذه سبورة بيضاء كبيرة. هذا كتاب جديد. هذه كراسة صغيرة صفراء." Then describe what is on your desk: "على مكتبي يوجَد قلم أزرق وكراسة." you use the colour adjective knowledge from F3 here — deliberate recycling. Encourage: be specific with colours. If you already speak some Arabic at home: also write what is NOT on your desk (لا يوجَد..).

Study a poster of 10 classroom instructions in Arabic (permanent classroom Study). your partner commits: "From today, I will always use these instructions in Arabic first. You are responsible for learning to respond." Quick drill: your partner gives each instruction once, class responds. You copy the 10 instructions into the inside cover of your exercise book as a permanent reference. This is a long-term investment in listening comprehension.
